Our Use of Your Personal Data

Alright, friends — no fluff, no legal jargon. We collect your personal information for a few clear reasons, and we believe you deserve to know exactly what’s going on. Here’s the breakdown of how we use your data (straight-up, no nonsense):

  • Your Data, Our Mission Control: We use your personal info to fuel the engine that keeps everything running smoothly. One of our key missions? Scouring the web to find where sketchy data brokers have posted your details — then stepping in like digital cleanup crew to get it taken down. You could say we’re your privacy pit crew, kicking bad data off the track so you can cruise worry-free.
  • Your Space, Your Signal: We build and tune your profile to reflect you — not just a username, but a personalized control hub tailored to how you roll. It’s like your own digital command center, where everything is dialed in to fit your preferences, pace, and priorities.
  • The Good Kind of Buzz: We’re here to keep things connected — in a good way. That means using a touch of your info to power community-driven features, like blog interactions and social vibes that make the experience feel more human, less robot. Think of it as fueling the conversation without feeding the algorithm beast.
  • Ping! It’s Us: We like to stay in touch — not in a clingy way, but just enough to keep you in the know. From important updates and security check-ins to the occasional “just saying hey,” we’ll drop into your inbox when it actually matters. No spam, no nonsense — just the good stuff.
  • Built Around You: We’re all about making your experience feel less “one-size-fits-all” and more “just right.” Think of it like your favorite local spot that starts your order before you even say a word — we use your preferences to shape things so they just fit. No guesswork, just good vibes.
  • Only the Good Kinds of Messages: Sometimes we’ve got cool stuff to share — offers, updates, or things we think you’ll genuinely like. But only if you're into that. If promotional messages aren’t your thing, just say the word. We’ll step back with zero drama, no guilt trips, and absolutely no inbox clinginess.
  • Innovation Powered by You: Every tap, click, and scroll helps us learn what works — and what could work even better. We use those insights to fine-tune what we’ve built and imagine what’s next. It’s less “lab coats and clipboards” and more like data-fueled creativity in action. You're basically co-creating the future with us.
  • When Duty Calls: Every now and then, the rulebook steps in — and when it does, we may need to share your info to stay on the right side of the law. No surprises, no sneaky stuff — just us doing the responsible thing, like any good digital neighbor would.
  • For the Sake of Safety: If things ever get sketchy — like threats to rights, privacy, or personal safety — we may share your info with the right folks (like law enforcement) to help keep everyone secure. It’s our way of throwing up the digital safety net when it matters most.
  • Incognito Mode, Activated: Sometimes we transform your personal info into anonymized data — stripped of anything that could link back to you. It’s like sending your data to the party in a mask and costume: we get the big picture without ever revealing who’s behind it. Trends get spotted, your identity stays hidden.
  • Here When You Need Us: Whether you're reaching out with a question, a hiccup, or just need a hand, we use your info to jump in and help — no delays, no fuss. Behind the scenes, we’re also using it to keep the gears turning and your experience glitch-free. Think of us as your behind-the-scenes support crew, always on call.

Sharing Your Details: How We Conduct Data Sharing

Alright, time to get real about sharing your info. We don’t just toss it around willy-nilly, but there are certain moments when passing it along makes sense — here’s the rundown:

  • Data Sharing for Cleanup: When you provide any Data, we may send it to data broker sites to help scrub your info off their platforms. Rest assured, that’s the only time we pass it along—strictly to protect your privacy, nothing else.
  • When Sharing Is Unavoidable: Your personal info stays with us — unless you give the green light, or if these special circumstances come into play:
  • Trusted Partners in Our Network: Sometimes we share your info with our extended corporate family—but only when it fits within the boundaries of this policy and your privacy stays front and center.
  • Helping Hands Behind the Scenes: We team up with trusted third-party experts to keep things running smoothly. They get access to your info—but only under our strict rules and just for the tasks we’ve entrusted them with.
  • Collaboration CornerOccasionally: we share some of your info (but not your Data Report) with our business partners to help enhance your experience. Curious about how cookies fit in? Take a peek at our Cookie Policy for the full scoop.
  • When Social Gets Involved: If you link your account to a social media platform, we’ll share only the info you’ve given us the thumbs-up to share. Just a heads-up though — once it’s in their hands, it’s their rules, not ours.
  • The Grown-Ups in the Room: Sometimes, we loop in our legal and financial pros to make sure we’re doing things by the book. If needed, your info might be shared with them — strictly for advice, guidance, and keeping things above board.
  • When Rules or Risks Come Knocking: If the law calls or safety’s on the line, we may need to share your info — just like we mentioned earlier. It’s all about staying compliant, protecting people, and doing the right thing when it counts.
  • When the Government Comes Calling: If the law requires it, we may have to hand over certain information to government authorities. But don’t worry — we’ll always do our best to limit what’s shared and protect your rights every step of the way.
  • In Case of a Big Move: If our company ever merges, sells, or hands over the keys to someone new, your info might come along as part of the package. But no matter who’s driving, your data stays protected under this same privacy promise.

Managing Your Preferences

This is your data, your experience — and now it’s your turn to decide how things go. Here’s what you can control:

  • Make Edits Anytime: Got an account? You’re in charge. Hop in anytime to update, tweak, or fix your personal info — no red tape, no hassle. Just a few clicks and you’re good to go.
  • Not Into Promo Emails? No Problem. If marketing messages aren’t your thing, just click “unsubscribe” at the bottom of any email—we won’t take it personally. You’ll still hear from us when it really matters, like account updates or important service info.
  • Cookies, Crumbs & Control: Curious about how to manage cookies or clear out browser storage? We’ve got the full breakdown waiting in our Cookie Policy — your go-to guide for keeping things just how you like them.
  • When Holding Back Holds Us Back: Some info is essential for us to do our thing. If you choose not to share it, no worries — but just a heads-up: it might mean we can’t offer certain features or services the way we normally would.

Privacy Policy

Executive Summary

At EraseMe, privacy isn’t just a policy — it’s our purpose. In a world where your personal data is constantly harvested, sold, and repackaged, we exist for one reason: to put you back in control. This Privacy Policy isn’t legal fluff — it’s a clear explanation of what we collect, why we collect it, and how we work relentlessly to shield and erase your personal information from the reach of data brokers.

We’re part of DetectSignal, Inc., doing business as EraseMe, along with our corporate affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively, “EraseMe,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Whether you’re browsing erasemeonline.com, using our Services, connecting with our team, or attending an event, this Privacy Policy spells out how your data is handled — no surprises, no loopholes.

If you're curious about how we use cookies (the digital kind, not the chocolate chip ones), check out our Cookie Policy below. And if you’re located in Europe or the UK, we’ve included specific information just for you.We believe privacy is power — and we’re here to help you reclaim it.

Your Data, Collected Transparently

What you choose to share with us. When you interact with our Services, you may share certain personal details with us, such as:

  • How to Reach You: This includes details like your name, email address, phone number, job title, and the organization you’re associated with—basically, how we know who you are and how to get in touch.
  • Your Account Details: The essentials for managing your EraseMe account—your username, password, and any personal settings or preferences you choose to configure.
  • Personal Data for Searches (Your "EraseMe Profile"): When you sign up, you’ll be invited to complete a customizable profile with optional details like your name, birthdate, gender, contact info, past addresses, relatives, employers, and more. This helps us locate where your personal data is being stored or sold online so we can target it for removal.
  • Why We Use That Information: The more complete your profile, the more effectively we can track down and eliminate your data across broker sites. It’s completely up to you how much you share—but more input typically means more removals.
  • When You Talk to Us: If you reach out with questions, feedback, or concerns, we may keep a record of what you say so we can better support and improve our services.
  • Linking with Social Media: If you choose to connect EraseMe with platforms like Facebook, X (Twitter), or LinkedIn, we may receive the information you allow those platforms to share. Just remember: their privacy rules also apply.
  • Communication Preferences: Whether you want updates, newsletters, or none of the above, we store your marketing preferences and track how you engage with what we send.
  • Other Information You Might Share: Sometimes, you might provide us with other types of personal information that don’t fall into a neat category. If that happens, we’ll handle it according to this Privacy Policy and explain why we’re collecting it.
  • Data from Social Platforms: If you engage with EraseMe on social networks, those platforms may give us limited access to your profile or interactions, depending on their settings. For anything you share with us there, our Privacy Policy still applies.
  • Info from Other Sources: We may receive extra data about you from third parties, like public databases, marketing partners, or business directories, to enhance our services or verify accuracy.
  • Automatically Collected Tech Info: When you visit our site, some information gets collected automatically—like your device type, browser, IP address, screen size, general location, pages viewed, time spent, and navigation patterns. This helps us keep everything running smoothly and tailor your experience.

External Platforms, Apps, and Digital Services

You may encounter content, features, or links within our Services that connect to websites, mobile apps, or online platforms run by other companies. These connections don’t imply any partnership, endorsement, or affiliation between us and those third parties. In some cases, our content might appear on external platforms or inside mobile applications that we don’t operate or manage. We have no control over how those third-party services handle your data, and we’re not responsible for their privacy practices, terms, or activities.Since every platform handles personal information differently, we recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any external site, app, or service you interact with to understand how your data may be collected or used.

Approach to Artificial Intelligence

At EraseMe, we incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enhance the efficiency of our internal systems and improve the quality of our services. We do not transmit your personal data to external or unverified AI services. Our commitment to responsible AI use is grounded in privacy, safety, and transparency. Your information remains protected—and always under our control.

How We Keep Your Data Secure

Protecting your information isn’t just a technical necessity—it’s a core part of how we operate. At EraseMe, we’ve designed our systems with layers of defense, using advanced methods that align with industry-recognized security protocols. Still, as with any digital environment, the internet’s open nature means no system can be guaranteed 100% immune to breaches. That’s why we take a proactive, defense-in-depth approach. All data—whether it's moving between systems or sitting on our servers—is shielded using strong encryption standards (TLS 1.2+ for transmission, AES-256 at rest). We restrict system access through tightly controlled permissions and enforce multi-factor authentication to ensure only the right people get in.Our infrastructure is under constant surveillance—real-time monitoring, threat detection tools, and endpoint security solutions help us catch problems before they cause damage. On the development side, we follow a disciplined, secure software development lifecycle. That means regularly testing our systems, finding weak spots, and fixing them before bad actors can exploit them.

But we also believe security is a shared responsibility. We strongly encourage you to create complex, one-of-a-kind passwords and safeguard your devices to reduce exposure on your end.To back all of this up, our Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) framework keeps everything accountable. It outlines the policies, controls, and systems we have in place—and how we manage risk transparently and continuously.

Because of this, your personal information—with the exception of your Account Data, which we store exclusively in the United States—may be transferred across borders, including to countries or regions that may not offer the same level of data protection as your own.Despite differences in international privacy laws, we put safeguards in place to ensure your information is handled in compliance with relevant legal standards.
