Effective Date: August 10, 2025
At EraseMe, privacy isn’t just a policy — it’s our purpose. In a world where your personal data is constantly harvested, sold, and repackaged, we exist for one reason: to put you back in control. This Privacy Policy isn’t legal fluff — it’s a clear explanation of what we collect, why we collect it, and how we work relentlessly to shield and erase your personal information from the reach of data brokers.
We’re part of DetectSignal, Inc., doing business as EraseMe, along with our corporate affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively, “EraseMe,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Whether you’re browsing erasemeonline.com, using our Services, connecting with our team, or attending an event, this Privacy Policy spells out how your data is handled — no surprises, no loopholes.
If you're curious about how we use cookies (the digital kind, not the chocolate chip ones), check out our Cookie Policy below. And if you’re located in Europe or the UK, we’ve included specific information just for you.We believe privacy is power — and we’re here to help you reclaim it.
What you choose to share with us. When you interact with our Services, you may share certain personal details with us, such as:
Your information helps us keep things running — from managing your account to delivering the features and functionality you signed up for.
What You Share With Us: When you use our Services, you may choose to give us certain personal details, such as:
Account Data Disclosures
The information you include in your Account may be used to initiate removal requests on your behalf. To deliver our Services effectively, we may query data broker platforms using details from your Account that match your personal information. This process is strictly limited to locating and requesting deletion of your data from those third-party sites. We do not share your Account data for any other purpose, and it is never provided to external parties for unrelated use.
General Data Disclosures
At EraseMe, we share your personal information only when it’s essential—for delivering our Services, meeting legal obligations, or supporting operations as described in this Privacy Policy. We do not sell your personal data, under any circumstances. When sharing is required, we do so with trusted entities under clear contracts and strict safeguards.
We may disclose your personal information to companies within the EraseMe corporate family or those under common control. These affiliated organizations access your information solely for uses aligned with this policy.
To support our operations, we rely on external service providers who assist with hosting, infrastructure, customer support, analytics, communications, and related functions. These providers are authorized to use your data only as necessary to perform their services for us and are bound by strict privacy terms.
Occasionally, we may engage with business partners to improve or expand our Services. When that happens, we may share limited personal information (excluding your Account data), or they may collect it directly through our platform. These collaborations are governed by clearly defined purposes and limits.
If you choose to connect your EraseMe experience with a third-party service—such as a social media platform or external account—we may share only the specific data you've permitted. Your Account data is not included in these exchanges, and any further use by those third parties is governed by their own policies.
We may also share your information with professionals like attorneys, auditors, banks, or insurance providers when needed to carry out their services for EraseMe.
If we believe in good faith that disclosure is legally required—or necessary to protect rights, safety, or property—we may share relevant personal data. This includes cases involving fraud prevention, regulatory compliance, or legitimate government inquiries.
In the event of a merger, sale, acquisition, restructuring, or other business transaction, your personal data may be part of the assets transferred. If that occurs, we will notify affected users where required, and ensure any successor organization upholds protections equivalent to those outlined here. Above all, EraseMe remains committed to privacy and the ethical handling of your data. Selling your information is not part of our business model—and never will be.
We believe you should have meaningful choices when it comes to how your personal information is used. This section outlines how you can manage your data and the options available to you. If you're located in Europe or the UK, additional region-specific privacy rights apply—you’ll find those detailed further below.
Managing Your Account Information
If you’ve set up an account with us, you can view and make changes to the personal details stored there—including anything you've submitted in your Account—by logging in and editing your profile directly.
Unsubscribing from Marketing
Not interested in hearing from us about promotions or updates? You can click the “unsubscribe” link found at the bottom of any marketing email we send. Just note that you’ll still receive messages related to your account or essential service updates—we won’t leave you in the dark about those.
Cookies and Similar Tech
We use cookies and other tracking tools to improve your experience. If you'd like to adjust your settings or learn how to turn off these technologies, please refer to our Cookie Policy.
Browser Settings and “Do Not Track”
Some browsers let you send a “Do Not Track” signal to websites. At this time, we don’t respond to those signals.
Choosing Not to Share Information
In certain situations, we’re required to collect personal data—for example, when specific information is essential to provide the Services. If you decide not to share that information (or later ask to have it deleted), it may limit our ability to support you or fulfill your request. We'll always let you know which fields are required when you're filling out forms or submitting data. While it’s optional to complete your Account profile in full, the details you provide are what we use to locate and request the removal of your information from data broker websites. More data points mean more matches—and more potential removals.
Connecting Through Third Parties
If you link your EraseMe account with a third-party service—like a social media platform—you might be able to choose what info we can access at the time you connect. Later, you can revisit and modify those settings within the third-party app or platform. Keep in mind that changes to sharing permissions don’t affect data we’ve already received before your settings were updated.
You may encounter content, features, or links within our Services that connect to websites, mobile apps, or online platforms run by other companies. These connections don’t imply any partnership, endorsement, or affiliation between us and those third parties. In some cases, our content might appear on external platforms or inside mobile applications that we don’t operate or manage. We have no control over how those third-party services handle your data, and we’re not responsible for their privacy practices, terms, or activities.Since every platform handles personal information differently, we recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any external site, app, or service you interact with to understand how your data may be collected or used.
At EraseMe, we incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enhance the efficiency of our internal systems and improve the quality of our services. However, we draw a clear line when it comes to your personal information. We do not use AI to make automated decisions that could meaningfully affect you or your experience. Furthermore, any AI tools that interact with customer data operate strictly within secure, EraseMe-managed environments. We do not transmit your personal data to external or unverified AI services. Our commitment to responsible AI use is grounded in privacy, safety, and transparency. Your information remains protected—and always under our control.
Protecting your information isn’t just a technical necessity—it’s a core part of how we operate. At EraseMe, we’ve designed our systems with layers of defense, using advanced methods that align with industry-recognized security protocols. Still, as with any digital environment, the internet’s open nature means no system can be guaranteed 100% immune to breaches. That’s why we take a proactive, defense-in-depth approach. All data—whether it's moving between systems or sitting on our servers—is shielded using strong encryption standards (TLS 1.2+ for transmission, AES-256 at rest). We restrict system access through tightly controlled permissions and enforce multi-factor authentication to ensure only the right people get in.Our infrastructure is under constant surveillance—real-time monitoring, threat detection tools, and endpoint security solutions help us catch problems before they cause damage. On the development side, we follow a disciplined, secure software development lifecycle. That means regularly testing our systems, finding weak spots, and fixing them before bad actors can exploit them.
But we also believe security is a shared responsibility. We strongly encourage you to create complex, one-of-a-kind passwords and safeguard your devices to reduce exposure on your end.To back all of this up, our Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) framework keeps everything accountable. It outlines the policies, controls, and systems we have in place—and how we manage risk transparently and continuously.
As a U.S.-based company, EraseMe operates primarily out of the United States and works with service providers located in various parts of the world. Because of this, your personal information—with the exception of your Account Data, which we store exclusively in the United States—may be transferred across borders, including to countries or regions that may not offer the same level of data protection as your own.Despite differences in international privacy laws, we put safeguards in place to ensure your information is handled in compliance with relevant legal standards. This includes applying appropriate contractual and operational controls designed to uphold the privacy and security of your data during international transfers. If you're curious about where your personal data resides or want more details about how we manage data across borders, feel free to reach out to us via support@jerasemeonline.com.
